RESURGENCE OF DEMOCRACY AND ITS IMPACT ON GOVERNANCE ON AFRICA

Abstract

The place of democracy as a system of governance in the modern world is bogus.
It seems to be the only means of governance that appeals to all and sundry in both the
advanced countries as well as the underdeveloped ones. This could be because of the
room it gives for people’s participation in the restoration, operation and sustenance of
government. It is based on this fact that this study intends a survey of the resurgence of
democracy in Africa in order to bring out its different stages and their characteristics and
proffers suggestions for improvement.
