Abstract

Chitpavan Brahmin is the community of the people who was engaged initially in farming and worship -Pooja Path previously. Now a days instead of looking for an employment opportunities they turned themselves towards business due to education and unique qualities. These people do not have any business background and they do not possessed any marketing which is require for the business but they became successful entrepreneurs by their own inherit qualities, efforts and self learning.

History of this community reveals that principal sources of their livelihood were agriculture and performing various religious activities for a fee. Some of them renowned as Teachers. But over the period of time, they changed themselves from their old occupation to new occupation.

This paper throws light on the various phases of changes in their original occupation to business from time to time.
